As a time poor parent I value recipes that are quick, easy and nutritious. This weaning breakfast is a winner on all 3 fronts and a firm favourite in our house.

The basic porridge recipe works on a 3:1 ratio, so you can scale it up or down as you need to, and add the extra ingredients on the day. Porridge in a sealed container keeps for 4 days in the fridge. This means to have it daily you only need to cook twice a week.

I prefer using cups rather than measuring as although less accurate its much faster and the clean up time is shorter. For this recipe I use a tea mug. Once finished I give it a quick rinse and then it’s ready to hold my morning brew. Zero clean up!

A word of caution, this recipe includes peanuts. If you have never given your baby peanuts before I would start with a very small amount such as a quarter of the recipe. This can be gradually increased over a few weeks. It is no longer recommended to withhold peanuts in infants.
